Dear Self Beauty Clay Blushes

Local beauty brands are emerging left and right with all country's creative minds and access to the latest cosmetics technology and Dear Self Beauty is definitely not getting left behind!

Dear Self Beauty introduced itself on Instagram during the last quarter of 2018 and officially opened it's doors in January 2019, making it perfect timing for the new year. New Year, new and improved beauty products on the market. What sets aside this brand aside from the usuals is the dainty artworks which gives their advertising a light and vintage touch. And what's even better is that it's all local and cruelty free!

Dear Self Beauty debuted their pioneer beauty product - Clay Blushes. Clay blushes have become all the rage in the past year and it seems to be carrying over this year as well for that fresh and glowy look - the opposite of the cakey IG baddie makeup. Perfect for the guys and gals who like simple products that can be used with a quick swipe over the face.

The Clay Blushes come in 6 versatile stains for all skin types. See below photo for the swatches. (My skin tone is NC30 for reference.)

Penelope - A muted cool toned nude

Lilian - A fresh bright coral pink

Audrey - A brown based golden yellow

Tabitha - A bright juice colored orange

Betty -A warm yellow toned red

PIGMENT

I've noticed that the pigment differs from each shade. Or maybe it's because I've swirled my finger in the pan differently but I've noticed that the shades Tabitha, Lilian and Betty have a more fresh finish while Audrey, Penelope and Dorothy are more matte and pigmented. Either way, they all have a lovely finish that's suitable for everyday looks.

PACKAGING

We've seen all the types of product packaging for blushes; the regular screw top container, oval singles in palettes and even an underarm deodorant roller (which still blows my mind) but my favorite is the unique tin container. You might have seen the same packaging with the Colourette Coloursnaps and various local beauty brands but I'm definitely not complaining. Aside from the sturdy packaging and it being travel friendly, it reduces the use of plastic and it helps save the environment (And you can always use the tin box afterwards for hiding your jewelry or lollies.)

Ingredients:

Carmauba wax, Argan Oil, Avocado Oil, Kaolin Clay, Talc, Vitamin E, Flavor Oil, Food grade color pigments.

Direction for Use:

Best applied by using cleaning fingertips. Gently tap or glide fingertips through the clay blush and tap to desired area of the face. You can control the amount of blush you wear and build your desired color. Our cream blush could also be used on the lips and eyelids.

FINAL VERDICT

What can I say? I'm a sucker for tints! Not only do they make you look healthy and glowy but they are so easy to use when you're on the go. A little tap here and there and you're good to go. My favorite thing about these (aside from the fact that the artwork is adorable) is that they're so pigmented yet very buildable. It can be a faint stain on the cheeks or a full on red lip - easy! For the price, it's definitely worth it. You don't need a whole lot to put on so this little tin would last you for months. I'm not a picky lady so as long as it does what I need it to, it's a 10 for me!
