Perfect Reds : Colourette Supramattes

Ahhh Valentine's day - a day where all the rose and teddy bear vendors emerge onto the streets with their small stalls and negotiable prices. A day where Blue Magic has it's best income in the year. A day where sweet and bitter posts flood your social media accounts. And for some, a day of going out on a simple date with your special someone. For me it's the latter and I want to look a little nice for later's activities. And by activities I mean getting some good food and ending the night with some chocolate and good wine.
It's Valentine's day and it's the perfect excuse for a pretty red lip to wear throughout the day. As dramatic as it sounds, finding that perfect red lip is a tad difficult. I know it may look like one color and it's not that hard to get one from the department store but believe you me, the UNDERTONES. ARE. REAL. And when you learn about it, there's no turning back. All you'll look at is every shade's undertone!!! So don't blame someone for having a few lip products of the same color. ANYWAY, moving on...
Colourette Cosmetics has come out with their gorgeous Supramatte Valentine's Collection for the year and it makes everything so much easier! Meet the three NEWEST Supramatte shades - BEAU, CUPID and ARROW!
SHADES & SWATCHES
BEAU - A dark blood red.
ARROW - A deep plum wine red.
CUPID - A bright tomato, orange based red.
PIGMENT
I would have expected at least one of them to be streaky since that tends to happen to a lot of bold colored liquid lipsticks, both high-end and drugstore. But to my surprise, they weren't! Give it a good mix with the applicator then apply straight to your lips for full pigment.
PACKAGING
All of the Supramatte liquid lipsticks come in a sleek transparent plastic tube with a firm doe foot applicator. The name of the lipstick is at the bottom of the tube. The packaging is pretty simple with the word Colourette delicately embossed on two sides of the tube. The ingredients and the product details are all included in the cardboard box which makes it a little difficult to identify which product it is (i.e. colourglaze, supramatte, dualitint) but if you remember the names of the lipstick then it won't be a problem.

Directions for use:
Colourette has become greatly known for it's "multi-use" products and everyone is living for it. I have seen several beauty influencers use the Supramattes multiple ways - as eyeliner, eye shadow base, creative face art (and if you're feeling extra creative.. even blush!). I've personally never tried it before so I keep to the basics and apply it on my lips. My suggestion would be (if you have lips as dry as mine - sahara desert) that your lips should be prepped with a sugar scrub or a bit of lip balm before you apply the product. To keep precise and clean, use a nude or same color lip pencil to trace the outer line of your lips.

FINAL VERDICT
Red lipsticks are my favorite, without a doubt! But I'm the type of girl that is so shy in reality that I can't wear reds out in the real world unless it's a huge occasion that requires more makeup than just mascara. Even if that's the case, boy do I love my reds! My favorite type of reds to date are the orange based and the dark blood color ones so that means I absolutely adore CUPID and BEAU. I always apply Supramattes after I have let lip balm sink into my lips for a few minutes. It keeps my lips extra moisturized and the matte lip looking healthy despite the quick-drying formula. I give the colors a solid 10 out of 10. For the formula, I'd give it a 9 out of 10 since it does tend to wear off around the middle of my lips after eating. But all in all, it's a pretty bangin' product.
